Definition of attention:

the ability to direct and mobilize our mental resources towards a source of information
this ability is ubiquitous in most cognitive activities.






There's many types of attention we started with

 selective attention ;

the ability to direct and mobilize our mental resources towards a source of information
this ability is ubiquitous in most cognitive activities.

The attention slips or share ;

The ability to allocate attentional resources over two or more tasks in a simultaneous manner


sustained attention;

It is the ability to maintain focused attention on two target stimuli for a relatively long period of time.


Automatic attention ;

certain information gathering or sometimes complex activity can be carried out outside of any attentional control.


Control attention  ;

the activities to control require a conscious attentional effort it is carried out in a slower more flexible and adaptive way.
